SANTA MONICA/BUENOS AIRES: Lionsgate will supply its premium first-run films to Fox Networks Group (FNG) Latin America’s pay-TV and basic cable channels in the region, thanks to a new output agreement the companies have signed.

Under the terms of the deal, FNG’s pay-TV and basic cable channels in Latin America will also have access to films from Lionsgate’s library. The agreement covers titles such as Divergent, Insurgent, Philomena and Ladrones.

“We are delighted to have secured this important agreement with our friends at Fox Networks Group Latin America,” said Peter Iacono, the president of international television and digital distribution at Lionsgate. “Our aim is always to garner maximum value from each of our titles and this multiple-year output deal for pay TV and basic cable with such a major network in Latin America will enable our first-class programming to showcase widely across this important region.”

“Thanks to much hard work by executives from both companies, the highly successful content from the Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment labels has found a home as part of the portfolio of content offered on Fox Network Group’s channels in Latin America,” commented Richard Rohrbach, the senior VP of acquisitions at Fox Networks Group Latin America. “With audiences that continually demand more and better content, Lionsgate will be a great addition to the other programming we currently offer. It was a pleasure to work with the Lionsgate team to reach this agreement.”

Rohrbach, Iacono and Maryann Pasante, Lionsgate’s senior VP of sales, brokered the deal.
