Lionsgate and Hemisphere Media Group’s Spanish-language streaming service Pantaya is set to launch its first scripted original series, The Game of Keys (El Juego de las Llaves).

Set in modern-day Mexico City, The Game of Keys is a comedy about long-term monogamy, self-realization and desire. The series follows four long-lasting couples who are friends that decide to swing. Each character must face the impact of the decision they have made on their relationship and personal outlook on sexuality. The series was created by Marisa Quiroga and developed by Patrick McGinley and Corazón Films’ Sandro Halphen, alongside Amazon Prime Video and Pantaya. Pantaya and Corazón Films are producing.

Debuting this fall, the half-hour Spanish-language original features an ensemble cast that includes Maite Perroni (Cuidado Con El Angel, Rebelde), Humberto Busto (El Chapo, Oso Polar), Marimar Vega (La Boda de Valentina, Amor de mis Amores), Sebastián Zurita (Ciudadano Buelna, Cómo cortar a tu Patán), Horacio Pancheri (Un Camino Hacia el Destino), Fabiola Campomanes (Teresa, Mi Corazon Es Tuyo), Hugo Catalan (Falsa Identidad) and Ela Velden (Caer en Tentación, Despertar Contigo).

“We’re thrilled to be launching Pantaya’s original programming with a premium series led by some of the biggest Latinx talent who have captivated audiences around the world,” said Pantaya and Pantelion Films CEO Paul Presburger. “When we approached Corazón Films, who’s been a great distribution partner on Lionsgate films in Mexico, we knew we wanted to do something premium, original and enticing that viewers wouldn’t get anywhere else. El Juego de las Llaves underscores the type of exciting, high-profile content we offer our audiences.”

“We anticipate El Juego de las Llaves to be appointment viewing for our core audience in the U.S., and is unlike anything seen in the space before,” said Mario Almeida, VP of development, programming and acquisitions at Pantaya.
