A new partnership will see Lionsgate+ become available through the eCommerce platform Mercado Livre across Latin America in key markets spanning Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia.

Starting with Mercado Livre Brazil, Mercado Livre will sell Lionsgate+’s app. Brazil is the initial launch market, with other territories rolling out in the coming months.

As part of the agreement, customers will be able to subscribe via Mercado Livre to Lionsgate+’s library of exclusive, premium content that includes the dark comedy Nacho and period dramas The Great and The Serpent Queen, as well as the true-crime drama The Act. Lionsgate+ is home to Spanish language original series such as Señorita 89 in Latin America, plus an extensive collection of blockbuster movies added to the platform every month.

“Mercado Livre has an impressive reach across Latin America and is an ideal partner for us as we continue to deepen our presence in the region,” said Darren Nielson, executive VP of international networks for STARZ. “With a slate of successful returning series like The Great and Gangs of London, combined with growing local language originals, we look forward to sharing our service with Mercado Livre users and welcoming them to Lionsgate+.”

Luiz Felipe Barros, VP of loyalty and entertainment at Mercado Livre, said: “The goal of Mercado Livre is to offer to our members the best of both worlds: the combination of benefits from the unbeatable ecosystem of Mercado Livre together with the best premium video content from the leading streaming platforms. With Lionsgate+ as a partner, we add to our offer some of the most successful movies and series in the world,”
