Kicking off a new edition of the TV Latina Festival, Elizabeth Bowen-Tombari, editor of TV Latina, spoke with international actress, producer, philanthropist, activist and co-founder of Cholawood Productions, Kate del Castillo, who talked about the production of The Beautiful Lie for Pantaya and the return of La reina del Sur.

During the conversation, which you can view here, Castillo commented on the stories that she’s looking for as a producer: “I want to do everything, and I mentioned that to [the team at] Endemol Shine Boomdog. I don’t want to be stereotyped, and we don’t want to produce only Latino stories. We want to produce incredible stories where [we can work] with as many Latinos as [we can] both in front of and behind the cameras.”

Castillo also spoke on the influence of her father, actor Erick del Castillo, and the moment she decided to come to the U.S., among other topics.
