Globo Licenses Two Series to U.S. Pay Channel

SÃO PAULO: Two Globo series are slated to make their American debuts through a licensing deal reached between the Brazilian outfit and the U.S. pay channel Pasiones.

The Cariocas stars Paolla Oliveira (Irrational Heart), Adriana Esteves (Brazil Avenue) and Sônia Braga. Set in Rio de Janeiro, the 10×25-minute show tells the story of ten modern women and their various passions.

The Brazilians: The Women is a 13×40-minute program starring 14 actresses who represent Brazil’s feminine diversity, including Juliana Paes (Gabriela), Giovanna Antonellie (The Clone) and Glória Pires (Irrational Heart). The series is a co-production between Globo and Lereby.

Pasiones is currently airing other Globo series, such as The Clone.
