FOX Sports Latin America Secures Five-Year Rights for Formula E

LONDON: FOX Sports Latin America has extended its agreement with Formula E for the exclusive media rights for the Formula E Championship live in Latin America, including Brazil, through the 2019–2020 season.

The Formula E Championship Races will now air live on FOX Sports 3 in Latin America and on FOX Sports 2 in Brazil. Besides live races, FOX Sports will also air a weekly magazine show featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the event, the teams and the drivers.

“We’re proud to expand our commitment with the Formula E and support and spread it to millions of homes in all Latin America a competition that combines the passion for motorsports with the development of sustainable technologies that allow us to enjoy an auto racing championship without harming the environment,” said Carlos Martinez, the president of FOX International Channels Latin America. “Having Formula E in FOX Sports has strengthened our motorsports programming and allowed us to attract new fans in the region.”

“We are delighted that FOX has extended its exclusive agreement to show Formula E live in Latin America,” remarked Alejandro Agag, the CEO of Formula E. “FOX remains an important partner for Formula E in this market, where we enjoyed great success with our Uruguayan and Argentinean races this season and now have two Brazilians fighting for the title. This agreement will ensure Latin American viewers receive the very best live coverage, which will allow us to grow our fan base.

“In addition, FOX Sports has believed in Formula E since the very beginning and we’re very happy that we’ve renewed our long-term partnership just ahead of the final rounds of the inaugural season—a sign that the confidence they put on us has become even stronger,” Agag added.
