BBC Worldwide Inks Content Distribution Deal with Televisa’s Blim

MIAMI: BBC Worldwide has signed a distribution agreement with Grupo Televisa’s new SVOD platform Blim, which will offer its subscribers more than 200 hours of content from the company, including drama, natural history, factual entertainment, science and documentaries.

“We are excited to be part of the new pan-regional platform Blim and to further strengthen our relationship with Televisa, a partner of great importance to the strategy of BBC Worldwide in Latin America,” said Anna Gordon, executive VP and managing director of BBC Worldwide for Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market. “This agreement also allows new audiences across the continent to have access to some of the BBC’s most renowned titles at their convenience, on demand and on multiple platforms.”

Launched this February, Blim is available on smartphones, tablets and computers with internet access on iOS and Android operating systems, and costs $109 Mexican pesos per month. Among the programs available through the digital platform are Doctor WhoTop GearMisfitsGeneration EarthEarth: The Power of the PlanetWild South America and Auschwitz: The Nazis and the Final Solution.
