BBC Worldwide Inks Chilean Deals

MIAMI: BBC Worldwide has sold a range of content to three platforms in Chile: state broadcaster TVN, Chilevision and pay-TV operator VTR.

“We are pleased to start 2015 delivering the best of the BBC to Chilean viewers on various platforms," said Fred Medina, executive VP and managing director of BBC Worldwide Latin America & US Hispanic. "As the world’s oldest broadcaster and best storyteller, BBC is producing unmissable content across all genres and we are now pleased to bring more of our programming to one of the most important markets in the region."

TVN opted for a mix of factual-entertainment properties. Chilevision went for a natural-history package that includes Wild Arabia and Generation Earth, among others. VTR snapped up an assortment of children's content to supplement its SVOD kids offering.
