BBC Worldwide Bolsters Brazil-Based Team

SÃO PAULO: BBC Worldwide Latin America/US Hispanic has added to the company’s team in São Paulo, Brazil, to meet the growing demand for premium British programming in the region.

Carolina Alckmin has been named development producer for Brazil, a newly created position. Alckmin, who previously worked for TV Globo and such production houses as O2, Tangerina and Maria Bonita Filmes, is charged with developing new projects and formats for the national market. She will collaborate with the BBC’s local production partner in Brazil, Endemol Shine, and will report directly to Anna Gordon, the executive VP and managing director of BBC Worldwide Latin America/US Hispanic.

In addition, Luiz Eduardo Silva Soares, previously of Record, was recently appointed digital sales coordinator. He is working under Paula Teruko, content sales manager at BBC Worldwide Brazil.

“These changes to our São Paulo team reflect our commitment to meet the growing demand for premium British content in the region with a multiplatform strategy that allows us to deliver our programs and branded content in innovative and engaging ways,” said Gordon.
