It’s a Sin Leads BAFTA TV Nominations

BAFTA has revealed the nominations for the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards and British Academy Television Craft Awards, with It’s a Sin leading the pack with 11 nods.

It’s a Sin is trailed by Landscapers with seven nominations, followed by Help, Time and We Are Lady Parts each with six. There are five nominations for Sex Education and four nominations for A Very British Scandal.

The nominees for drama series are In My Skin, Manhunt: The Night Stalker, Unforgotten and Vigil.

Up for lead actor are David Thewlis for Landscapers, Hugh Quarshie for Stephen, Olly Alexander for It’s a Sin, Samuel Adewunmi for You Don’t Know Me, Sean Bean for Time and Stephen Graham for Help.

The leading actress race is between Denise Gough for Too Close, Emily Watson for Too Close, Jodie Comer for Help, Kate Winslet for Mare of Easttown, Lydia West for It’s a Sin and Niamh Algar for Deceit.

The miniseries category features It’s a Sin, Landscapers, Stephen and Time.

International series receiving nods include Call My Agent!, Lupin, Mare of Easttown, Squid Game and The Underground Railroad.

The nominations for the public-voted Virgin Media’s Must-See Moment are An Audience with Adele (Adele is surprised by the teacher who changed her life), I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! (Ant and Dec dig at Downing Street’s lockdown parties), It’s a Sin (Colin’s devastating AIDS diagnosis), RuPaul’s Drag Race UK (‘UK Hun?’ – Bimini’s verse), Squid Game (Red Light, Green Light game) and Strictly Come Dancing (Rose and Giovanni’s silent dance to ‘Symphony’).

The Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, May 8, on BBC One and BBC One HD. This year marks Richard Ayoade’s third consecutive year as host.
