ITV Orders Zig Zag’s Japandemonium

ITV has commissioned Japandemonium, a fast-paced series produced by Zig Zag Productions that celebrates the funniest clips from iconic Japanese game shows.

The 6×30-minute series will be voiced by radio DJ Melvin Odoom (The Xtra Factor, Strictly Come Dancing) and will air later this year on ITV. Japandemonium showcases clips from some of the most bizarre games ever featured on Japanese TV, coupled with clips from hidden-camera pranks pulled on celebrities and members of the public.

Asif Zubairy, ITV’s commissioning editor for comedy and entertainment, said, “Japandemonium is a collection of some of the cleverest, funniest, oddest, most bonkers game shows ever seen outside Japan.”

Andy Scott, Zig Zag Productions’ head of entertainment and an executive producer on the show, added, “The Japanese are the absolute masters of epic physical game shows and completely hilarious no-holds-barred hidden-camera pranks. They’ve suffered for their art—and now you can sit back, strap in tight and enjoy a fast-paced collection of the best moments, all gathered together into what we like to call a Japandemonium.”
