CMJ Productions Folded into Attraction

Three years after acquiring CMJ Productions II, Attraction has officially brought the factual producer under its banner.

The rebrand comes as the company continues to grow its English-language TV footprint within North America, working on several new commissions that will launch later this year. Since acquiring the production company in 2016, CMJ has also expanded into digital content creation.

Attraction’s English-language content is now under one roof in Toronto. This includes the production division formerly known as CMJ as well as the company’s advertising production group and roster of commercial directors, including Director X.

“CMJ has been a leading crime producer for more than a decade, and as they continue to broaden their slate and build on their successes, it was time to recognize that evolution by unifying under a common brand,” said Richard Speer, president and founder of Attraction. “It’s an exciting time for the Attraction family, as we have some of the most creative minds in the country to fuel our growth and strengthen our domestic and international identity.”

Nicole Hamilton, head of content and business development, expands her remit to oversee long-form factual content across Attraction’s English-language brands. Joey Case is promoted to head of development and executive producer, leading the development strategy across all channels and vehicles. Both will report to Judith Beauchemin, VP of English content.
