C$3 Million in CMF Funding for Diverse Languages Program

TORONTO: The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has awarded C$3 million ($2.25 million) in funding to 11 projects that applied to the Diverse Languages Program, which supports productions reflecting Canada’s diversity.

The program funds projects in languages other than English, French or Aboriginal languages. Of the 11 projects that received funding, three are children’s and youth productions, four are documentaries and three are dramas. One project is a docudrama.

The projects are in several languages, including Italian, Mandarin, Persian, Punjabi, Russian and Spanish. All productions have a television component and ten offer a related digital-media component.
