WBD Hires for Western Pacific Leadership Roles

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has made two new hires for Western Pacific roles, including tapping Gillian Zhao as president of China.

Zhao, who has more than 20 years of experience across entertainment and high-tech sectors, will lead the strategic growth of WBD’s theatrical, TV distribution, home entertainment and local theatrical production businesses in China.

WBD has also hired Tony Qiu as senior VP and head of commercial for the Western Pacific. Qiu will lead ad sales and games management in China, as well as consumer products in China and ANZ. He will oversee the international ad sales function for the region as a whole, which includes Japan, Australia and New Zealand and China.
