Korea’s JTBC Invests in iflix

JTBC has made an investment in iflix, with the OTT service set to distribute the Korean media company’s content across Asia.

The deal between JTBC Content Hub and iflix was announced at APOS. The size of the investment was not disclosed. The two companies may expand their collaboration in the future in the form of co-productions.

JTBC content will be featured on iflix for free, including dramas like Welcome to Waikiki 2 and The Wind Blows and variety shows such as Men on a Mission and Chef and My Fridge, one month following their Korean broadcasts. More than 500 hours of library dramas from JTBC, among them SKY Castle, Cleaning with Passion Now, ID: Gangnam Beauty and Ms. Hammuribi, will also join the iflix lineup.
