Lionsgate posted a net loss of $163.3 million on revenues of $948.6 million in what CEO Jon Feltheimer referred to as a “disappointing” second quarter.

Lionsgate and Lionsgate Studios delivered second-quarter revenues of $834.7 million and narrowed their net loss to $59.4 million.

Driven by library gains and a post-Hollywood-strike boost, Lionsgate's television group saw its profits rise by 83 percent in Q4.

First-quarter revenues at Lionsgate rose by 2 percent to $909 million, with the independent studio narrowing its net loss to $70.7 million.

Fourth-quarter revenues at Lionsgate rose by 17 percent to $1.1 billion, with increases in its motion picture and media networks segments.

Sandra Stern has been promoted to vice chairman of the Lionsgate Television Group.

Lionsgate reported that it beat expectations in subscriber growth in the first quarter as it posted revenues of $893.9 million and a wider loss of $119 million.
