Ahead of the official arrival of Max in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong, Warner Bros. Discovery’s JB Perrette and James Gibbons talk to World Screen Newsflash about the platform’s positioning in the region, the importance of partnerships and the plans for local content.

Warner Bros. Discovery is bringing its Max streaming service to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong on November 19.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max has rolled out in France and Poland, bringing the platform’s availability in Europe to 25 countries.

Warner Bros. Discovery's Max is now available in 20 countries across the Nordics, Iberia and Central and Eastern Europe, with further expansion planned in June and July.

Disney Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery are teaming to offer a streaming bundle with Disney+, Hulu and Max in the U.S. beginning this summer.

Max, the unified HBO Max and discovery+ streaming platform, is set to roll out in the U.S. on May 23 with a new tagline, “The One to Watch.”

HBO Max and discovery+ will be combined into an as-yet-unnamed unified platform delivering both ad-free and ad-lite options in 2023, with a FAST service potentially to follow, David Zaslav and JB Perrette revealed in an investor call as Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) reported its first financial results as a combined company.
