Asian Academy Creative Awards Plans Unveiled

The Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) has released its plans for this year’s ceremonies and National Winners Conference.

AACA is set to announce over 300 winners across its 36 categories in a live-streamed program on September 28 via Facebook, YouTube and the AACA’s website. The Asian Academy of Creative Arts has based its scoring system on that of the International Emmy Awards, allowing for work from the AsiaPac region to be benchmarked against the rest of the world.

Breaking from tradition, the Asian Academy of Creative Arts has slated its two awards
ceremonies, red carpet events, lunch, cocktails and afterparty for December 7. The National Winners Conference is also staged as a full-day event on December 6, hosted by international law firm Baker McKenzie.

The AACA recently revealed a 10 percent year-over-year increase in entries for the awards, although Michael McKay, AACA president and Emmy Award-winning producer, noted that “more importantly, the standard of work across our region is getting better and better, and it’s making the job of judging that much harder, which is great.”

The AACA announces its scores throughout the ceremony. “It adds excitement for the viewers but also lets those who don’t win know just how close to the mark they actually were,” added McKay.
