MIPCOM Spotlight: MISTCO

CANNES: Building on an existing relationship, MISTCO and Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) have strengthened their ties.

MISTCO now has an expanded catalog and at MIPCOM will present drama series from the TRT library. Highlights include Resurrection (Ertugrul), “which has been the most-viewed Turkish drama series for two years,” says Aysegul Tuzun, the VP of sales and marketing at MISTCO. “We believe that with the launching of the third season in October it will [maintain] and increase its success.”

Another highlight, Filinta, has a new season with a fresh story. Other series from the TRT library that MISTCO will be presenting include Love Me As I Am, alongside a slate of miniseries and TV movies. “With our extended catalog consisting of dramas appealing to all target groups, our aim is to strengthen our position in the market,” says Tuzun.

Thanks to its extended partnership with TRT, MISTCO also has an enriched catalog of animated series that already have track records of success. Highlights include Atishoo, which tells of a curious and active girl going through adventures in each episode. Elif’s Dreams, meanwhile, is designed to help develop children’s instincts as well as their imaginations. There’s also Happy Toys, in which the heroes live together in a toyshop with Master Ayşe.

“TRT is the one and only TV network that supports the Turkish animation industry aggressively and continually,” says Tuzun. “These animated series are competing with huge-budget TV shows in Turkey, and they achieve great success in daily ratings.”
