Alan Cumming to Host 2016 International Emmy Awards Gala

NEW YORK: Actor Alan Cumming, whose work spans across theater, film and television, is lined up to host the International Emmy Awards Gala, which will take place November 21 in New York.

Cumming’s stage work includes Hamlet, Macbeth and Cabaret. His TV appearances include Sex and the City, Frasier, The L Word, Reefer Madness and Tin Man. He recently played Eli Gold in seven seasons of the CBS series The Good Wife.

“Alan Cumming is a master artist, actor, author and entertainer who for the last 30 years has been continually taking his craft to new heights. We are proud to have this multi-talented performer as our host this year,” said Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Cumming added: “As someone who believes it is important to reach out and embrace different cultures and their stories, and who revels in the diversity and richness of working all over the world, I couldn’t be happier to join the celebration of international excellence that is the International Emmys.”
