LONDON: ESPN Player has launched ESPN Select, a new channel that will provide a range of sports content live and on-demand to subscribers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

ESPN Select joins the existing NCAA College and IndyCar channels that are already available on ESPN Player. This month, the channel will air content from sporting events being held across the world, including the Little League World Series, which begins on August 18.

In addition to the Little League World Series, the schedule for August includes ESPN Films content, the BattleFrog League Championships and the U.S. Drone Racing Nationals. ESPN Select subscribers will have access to the X-Games and World Series of Poker channels, which were previously available as separate subscriptions on ESPN Player.

Beginning September 1, subscribers will be able to watch titles from ESPN Films’s award-winning documentary series 30 for 30. This includes June 17th 1994, which examines the sporting action that was overshadowed by the O.J. Simpson police chase.

Charly Classen, the general manager of ESPN EMEA, said, “ESPN Select will bring fans a great lineup of live and on-demand content, with something new and different every month. The channel offers a combination of what makes ESPN great—live coverage of exciting and captivating sports, plus critically acclaimed sports documentaries from some of the best directors in the world.”
