Of all the new programs that debuted globally in October, BET’s Gucci Mane & Keyshia Ka’Oir: The Mane Event generated the most buzz on Twitter and Facebook, according to The WIT.

The reality series follows the twists and turns of the hip-hop power couple as they work to blend their families and defy the odds while preparing for the most extravagant celebrity wedding of the year. Around 215,000 tweets were sent about the #Engaging show, which saw much #Gossiping but left viewers questioning the #WeirdIntro and decision about #WhyShowTheWeddingFirst?

Operación Triunfo on La 1 in Spain saw around 198,000 comments on social media. In the new version of the singing talent search that broadcast on TVE1 and Telecinco from 2001 to 2011, 16 contestants live together and compete in a prestigious academy, vying for a €100,00 prize. There were #StrongFeelings about the #EngagingTalents and #KudosToNewHost, though a few #TechnicalFails.

YouTube released Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated and around 190,000 Twitter and Facebook comments followed. The documentary centers on global music sensation and social advocate Demi Lovato as she reveals a year-long personal journey of music reinvention and deep discovery. The #FanCraze on the internet buzzed that the doc was #Emotional and #Relatable.

Multiple networks in the U.S. aired One Voice: Somos Live! A Concert for Disaster Relief, which generated some 123,000 tweets. The benefit concert to raise money for people affected by recent natural disasters featured some of the most prominent superstars in Latin and pop music, performing live from Miami and Los Angeles. The concert aired on Telemundo, Univision, NBC, MTV and other networks, and was live-streamed by MTV. The #StellarConcert drew much praise from people commenting on social media: #GodBlessPuertoRico #BreathtakingHallelujahbyDemiLovato and #KudosToMarcAnthony.

BBC One debuted Blue Planet II to around 54,000 tweets. The documentary series hosted by naturalist Sir David Attenborough draws on new filming techniques to help show viewers some of the 250,000 sea-dwelling species that have been discovered since Blue Planet was made in 2001. The internet was buzzing about the #Spectacular show and its #ExtraordinaryPhotography and #AmazingProductionValuesBut… #SoundProblems.

The premiere of O Outro Lado do Paraíso on TV Globo in Brazil drew approximately 47,000 social-media comments. The telenovela set in a mining town follows a young woman of modest origin who is coveted by a young psychiatrist and a man of dubious character. There was much praise for the #StellarCast and #EngagingLoveTriangle, as well as #KudosToActressFernandaMontenegro.

FOX in the U.S. debuted The Gifted, which had around 43,000 comments surrounding its premiere. The action series focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. There were #HighHopes from fans tweeting about the show, and luckily it was #CrowdPleaser that was both #WellProduced and #HighlyEntertaining.

Show TV in Turkey aired the first episode of Çukur. The show centers on the Koçova family, which controls a tough neighborhood and ensures that no drugs enter it. When a new gang declares war on them, the youngest son returns home and promises to bring peace. There were around 32,000 tweets, with many talking about the #ResemblanceToDramaIçerde, the #ActorErcanKesal and #Excitement for the #Mafia laced #Heroic tale.

VH1 in the U.S. premiered Scared Famous, and the #Hilarious show was given a #WarmWelcome by those tweeting about the broadcast. In the series, ten reality TV celebs move into one of the spookiest mansions in America. They face chilling challenges inspired by iconic horror movies for a chance to donate $100,000 to their favorite charity. There were some 28,000 comments on social media, with some pointing out the #GreatCastBut… #TooManyPropsandFX.

Channel 4 in the U.K.’s broadcast of George Michael: Freedom garnered around 27,000 comments. The documentary covers the span of George Michael’s career, with a focus on the formative period in the singer’s life. The #BrilliantDocumentary about the #Iconic singer was a #BittersweetWatch for those missing the artist, who is still well-loved by fans around the world: #WhatAVoice.
