NEW YORK: SnagFilms is gearing up to launch Thundershorts, a new comedy website featuring original short-form programming, on June 26.

The new platform will launch with seven episodic short-form series. They include American Viral, about a family's attempts to recapture their YouTube fame; Teachers Lounge, featuring a slew of A-list cameos; Gabe & Max Need Help, starring longtime friends and comedians Gabe Delahaye and Max Silvestri; and Don't Walk, a real-time adventure taking place on the streets of New York. There are also three comedies featuring breakout stars: Timeless Seasons, Augie Alone and Loo Makes It Big.

Thundershorts will offer free streaming for all its content, premiering exclusively on Thundershorts.com, its YouTube channel and all SnagFilms supported devices.

In an effort to build up its comedic web content, SnagFilms has created an incubator for original programming. The Thundershorts team, headed by Michael Pielocik (formerly head writer for Onion Digital Studios and staff writer on Onion News Network), will develop content that tells original stories in a unique comedic voice.
