Fox Networks Group Appoints EVP of Business & Legal Affairs

LOS ANGELES/WASHINGTON, D.C.: As part of the ongoing reshuffling of Fox Networks Group's legal team, Clara K. Kim has been hired as the company's executive VP of business and legal affairs for National Geographic Channels and National Geographic Channels International.

In her new role, Kim will work out of Washington, D.C. under Rita Tuzon, the executive VP and general counsel for Fox Networks Group. She will collaborate with Courteney Monroe, the CEO of National Geographic Channels U.S., and Ward Platt, the CEO of National Geographic Channels International and COO of Fox International Channels.

Kim's duties will include overseeing business and legal affairs related to National Geographic Channels' domestic and international businesses. She is also charged with managing a business and legal affairs group responsible for negotiating a variety of programming, development, acquisition and production deals for the U.S. and international channels, and handling the business and legal aspects of U.S. channel operations and ancillary businesses.

Previously, Kim served as general counsel and co-founder of Multi-Verse Media. Before that, she was the executive VP of global business and legal affairs for Discovery Communications.

Tuzon commented: "Finding an experienced business and legal affairs executive who is not only adept at production matters but who also understands distribution negotiations, global regulatory issues, mergers and acquisitions and broadcast standards is no easy feat.
