Peter Rice Upped at Fox Networks Group

NEW YORK: News Corporation has promoted Peter Rice to chairman and CEO of Fox Networks Group, the division that encompasses Fox Broadcasting Company, FX and the Fox International Channels, among other businesses.

Rice was previously chairman of entertainment for FNG. He continues to report directly to Chase Carey, the president and COO of News Corporation. David Haslingden, the president and COO of FNG, now reports to Rice instead of to Carey, as does Mike Hopkins, the president of distribution. Also reporting to Rice are Randy Freer and Eric Shanks, co-presidents of Fox Sports Media Group (FSMG); Kevin Reilly, the president of entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company; and John Landgraf, the president and general manager of FX.

In related news, David Hill, chairman and CEO of Fox Sports, is now senior executive VP of News Corporation, where he will focus on programming, digital initiatives and other opportunities in the company’s operating units across Latin America, Asia, Australia, Europe and the U.S.
