CBS Seeks Outside Counsel to Investigate Moonves Allegations

CBS Corporation’s board of directors is in the process of selecting outside counsel to conduct an independent investigation of misconduct allegations against CEO Leslie Moonves.

The CBS board came together for a regularly scheduled meeting yesterday, during which no further action was taken surrounding claims against Moonves. On Friday, The New Yorker published an article in which six women accused the executive of sexual misconduct, with allegations dating from the 1980s to the 2000s.

Though the CBS board did not address the Moonves claims directly, they did release a brief statement saying that they were seeking outside counsel. They also decided to postpone CBS Corporation’s 2018 annual meeting of stockholders that was previously scheduled to be held on August 10.
