Kew Media Distribution’s lineup of factual titles it’s set to present to global clients at MIPTV includes the CNN Original series The Movies.

The Movies (12×60 min. or 6×120 min.) explores American cinema over the decades. It combines archive material with interviews with Hollywood heavyweights such as Ron Howard, Ridley Scott, Tom Hanks, Baz Luhrmann and Morgan Freeman as well as film critics and historians. The docuseries is produced by The Playtone company and Herzog & Company.

Also new to MIPTV is Body Hack 3.0, an Essential Media Group production for Network TEN Australia that investigates some of the planet’s most extraordinary people with host Todd Sampson (Outrageous Acts of Danger). Griff Off the Rails: Down Under, which follows Griff Rhys Jones boarding Australia’s trains to present a modern look at the country, is another Essential Media Group production heading to the market.

My Paranormal Nightmare, a series about people who experienced violent hauntings in their childhood years addressing them as adults, is one of three Our House Media Productions’ programs Kew Media is spotlighting. The others are Silent Witness: Murder In Amish Country, about the challenge of solving homicide cases in America’s insular Amish community; and Mutant Weather, which gives viewers a glimpse at shocking new weather phenomena that are among the consequences of climate change.

The building of complex structures and systems—and the possibility of failure—are front and center in Frantic Films’ High Maintenance, another docuseries Kew Media is taking to MIPTV. A second season of the popular Haunted Hospitals, which reveals more chilling tales of paranormal activity in various medical facilities, will be available as well.

Also on offer will be a slew of feature documentaries, including An Engineer Imagines, The Cavern Club: The Beat Goes On, Laurel Canyon, Margaret Atwood: Encounters, Toxic Beauty, Killing Patient Zero, Active Measures and When Missing Turns to Murder.

Greg Phillips, president at Kew Media Distribution, said: “The continued upswing in the number of streaming services, both local and global, means that international broadcasters and platforms are avidly seeking high-quality, original content to pique and hold the interest of their viewers and subscribers. Through our extensive relationships with leading producers from around the world, we are able to showcase an exceptional selection of programming at both MIPTV and MIPDOC that all make for extraordinary, intriguing and sometimes downright uncomfortable viewing.”
