MIAMI: Japanese satellite pay-TV network TBS Channel is set to air a dubbed version of Venevision International’s hit novela Eva Luna starring Blanca Soto and Guy Ecker this August.

Venevision International signed a deal with TBS Service, an affiliate of broadcaster Tokyo Broadcasting System, to bring a tailor-made edition of the novela to Japan. The show has been edited into 26 one-hour episodes and dubbed into Japanese. In addition to its TBS Channel slot, it will be made available via VOD and Internet streaming.

“This marks the first time TBS has purchased and programmed a Latin telenovela in its accomplished 60-year history,” noted Cesar Diaz, VP of sales at Venevision International. “This represents yet another great stride in the region as we expand our reach in Asia, thanks to the proven quality and success of our products, a distinction for which the Venevision International brand is recognized in the global market.”
