The Spanish-language Pasiones channel has picked up the International Emmy-winning novela Precious Pearl (Preciosa Perla) to air on its Latin American feed.

Set in the 1930s and 1940s against the backdrop of the Himalayas, Precious Pearl tells the story of millionaire Franz Hauser and working-class Amelia, who despite their social classes and family opposition, fall in love, get married and have a daughter. When Amelia is framed for a crime, the daughter winds up with her paternal family.

“We are pleased to bring the mega-production of Preciosa Perla to our viewers in Latin America and our confident the novela, which features remarkable period sets and costumes, will be well received by our audience,” said Francisco Gimenez, senior VP and general manager at Hemisphere Media Group, Pasiones’ parent company.
