SÃO PAULO: Public Television in Armenia has picked up the rights to the Globo telenovela Trail of Lies.

The network is one of the leading open broadcasting companies in the country and a longstanding Globo partner, having already broadcast titles such as Side by Side and The Life We Lead. The novela will air dubbed in the local language.

Written by Walcyr Carrasco, Trail of Lies has already been licensed in Argentina (Telefe), Ecuador (Ecuavisa), Chile (Canal 13) and Bolivia (Unitel). The telenovela also aired in Portugal, where it was shown on SIC.

The novela is set in the wealthy city of São Paulo and tells the story of Paloma (Paolla Oliveira), a headstrong woman whose newborn baby is kidnapped by her own brother Felix (Mateus Solano), who plans to be sole heir to the family fortune. In turn, Bruno (Malvino Salvador), an honest man who loses his own wife and child that very same evening, miraculously discovers Paloma’s baby abandoned in the garbage.
