SÃO PAULO: Brazil Avenue, Globo's hit telenovela, has broken its own licensing record following deals made last week in Cannes.

Over the past ten months, the broadcasting rights for Brazil Avenue have been picked up in 124 countries around the world. The series has been produced in 17 different languages. In June the program surpassed the licensing record held by Shades of Sin, which was acquired by 100 territories.

Brazil Avenue follows the life of a young woman who is trying to take back the life that was ruined by her stepmother when she was a child. The show stars Cauã Reymond (The Enchanted Tale), Murilo Benício (The Clone) and Ísis Valverde (India—A Love Story).
