DISCOP Africa Wraps with More Than 50 Percent Increase in Attendance

JOHANNESBURG: The 11th edition of DISCOP Africa came to a close today, with event organizer Basic Lead reporting a total of 2,160 participants, which represents a 56-percent increase from last year.

A total of 92 countries were represented at the market. There were 426 producers on hand, of which 309 were from South Africa. With the first-ever Meet Your Stars track, the event boasted 338 influencers (meaning advertising agencies, brands, airtime buyers, airtime sellers, etc.) and 68 celebrities.

At a press conference today, Patrick Zuchowicki, the CEO of Basic Lead, announced highlights of the events scheduled for 2016. DISCOP Africa Abidjan will take place from May 31 to June 2, 2016, with Morocco as the guest country. The next edition of DISCOP Africa Johannesburg is set for November 2 to 4, 2016, when the U.S. steps into the spotlight as guest country.
