ViendoMovies to Broadcast VIII Platino Awards

ViendoMovies, the pay-TV channel owned by SOMOSTV, is set to air the eighth annual Platino Awards in the U.S. and Puerto Rico on November 21.

The Platino Awards recognize professionals and productions in the Ibero-American audiovisual industry. The gala, which took place in Madrid on October 3, featured projects from 22 countries, including Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Presented by EGEDA, the ceremony saw 22 awards given out. Among the films with the most awards was El Olvido Que Seranos (Forgotten We’ll Be), which had 12 nominations and five wins. The film earned the Best Ibero-American Fiction Film, Best Direction, Best Film Actor, Best Script and Best Art Direction awards.

The ceremony was hosted by Juana Acosta and Luis Gerardo Méndez, with appearances by Becky G, Carlos Baute, Juan Magán and Pedro Capó.

U.S. and Puerto Rican viewers can watch the full ceremony on ViendoMovies at 9 p.m. EST on November 21.
