NBC Universo Greenlights Season Two of El Vato

NEW YORK: NBC Universo has renewed El Vato, starring Mexican singer El Dasa, for a second season.

The 13-episode dramedy, produced by Endemol Shine Latino and Boomdog, is set to begin production early 2017. The show marked the network’s first original scripted series created for the U.S. Hispanic market.

“As we continue to establish our brand and redefining Hispanic media, we are working on elevating Spanish-language content and breaking boundaries to present our viewers quality programming,” expressed Bilai Joa Silar, the senior VP of programming and production atNBCUniverso. “El Vato’s aspirational story has captivated our audience and we are thrilled to renew our first original scripted series for a second season.”
