LOS ANGELES: Flavio Morales, a former Telemundo programming exec, has been appointed as the executive VP of Endemol Shine Latino, U.S. initiatives.

In his new role, Morales will develop unscripted, scripted and digital content meant for the U.S. Hispanic/English-speaking market. He will work out of Los Angeles and will collaborate with the Endemol Shine Latino team in Miami. Morales most recently served as the executive VP of BIG VIDA Entertainment. Before that he was a top programming exec at Telemundo's cable network mun2, which is now NBC Universo. During that time, he contributed to the development of such shows as I Love Jenni, Fugitivos de la Ley and Larrymania. Earlier in his career, Morales was the director of programming and music for LATV, of which he was also a founding member.

It was recently announced that Laurens Drillich, currently CEO of Endemol Shine Netherlands, will become president of Endemol Shine Latino early next year. She will report to Cris Abrego and Charlie Corwin, co-chairmen and co-CEOs of Endemol Shine North America.

"Flavio brings a wealth of experience as both a producer and as a programming executive to our team," said Abrego and Corwin. "He's already off and running, developing original content aimed at the English-speaking U.S. Hispanic marketplace—an area we believe has been left largely untapped."

"I feel fortunate to be a part of an amazing company," added Morales. "I look forward to collaborating and innovating with Cris, Charlie, Laurens and the entire Endemol Shine familia."
