Cisneros Studios Signs First Production Deal with Telemundo

MIAMI: Cisneros Studios has inked its first production deal with U.S. Hispanic channel Telemundo for the new show It’s About Time with Erika and Eduardo (Ya Era Hora con Erika y Eduardo).

The title, hosted by entertainers Erika de La Vega and Eduardo Videgaray, will focus on current issues and affairs related to politics, entertainment, celebrities and news stories. The program will premiere November 15.

Cisneros Studios is the U.S.-based production house of Cisneros Media.

“We are very pleased to be able to produce content for this important Hispanic network for the first time,” stated Juan Carlos Sosa, the executive VP of operations and general manager of Cisneros Studios. “We are dedicating our greatest resources to ensure that we meet and exceed the network’s high standards in relation to this new project.”

“Telemundo defines leadership by its capacity to innovate, take risks and produce quality work,” added Glenda Pacanins, the senior VP of programming and content at Telemundo. “To bring new formats, with the understanding that our audience deserves better television, will always be part of our DNA.”

This production deal follows a recent agreement with Cisneros Media and the Miss Venezuela pageant to donate funds to four teen-pregnancy-prevention groups. Those organizations—PLAFAM, Prosalud, Provive and Niña Madre—were chosen by viewers of the 2015 Miss Venezuela pageant last month via a customized site provided by interactive cause-marketing platform in/PACT.

"in/PACT’s innovative platform undoubtedly enabled us to further engage our audience while generating awareness to such an important topic, teen pregnancy, which we’ve been addressing on all our media outlets, giving it prominent exposure during the recent Miss Venezuela pageant," said Jonathan Blum, the president of Cisneros Media.

Maria Ignacia Arcaya, the head of Cisneros’ Corporate Social Responsibility, commented: “At Cisneros, we strongly believe in joining forces to optimize the impact of our social awareness initiatives, and this is an excellent example of the types of synergies that allow us to do so successfully."

“We could not be more excited for the opportunity to help direct funds to such an important cause,” said John McNeel, the CEO of in/PACT. “The Miss Venezuela pageant’s reputation for purpose is well underscored by this commitment to giving back to their local community.”
