Comedy Central Set for Chilean Launch

MIAMI/SANTIAGO: Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has clinched a deal to launch Comedy Central Latin America on VTR in Chile.

The channel, first introduced to the region a few months ago, will premiere on the Chilean cable operator tomorrow, delivering imports such as Mr. Sunshine, Married With Children and The Sarah Silverman Show, as well local original productions like The Spooky Show, stand-up specials and comedy features.

Paula Guerra, the CEO of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) The Americas South, commented, “There is no other channel with the power to make people laugh the way Comedy Central does and we are confident that Chile’s audience will not be an exception.”

Javier Villanueva, the manager of content and television development at VTR, added, “We are constantly looking for new channels and we’re certain that Comedy Central is the right choice. The channel will be full of fun and humor at all times and we look forward to seeing more original productions produced in the region and our country on-air soon.”
