MIAMI: Adding to its existing broadcast deals with several Mexican football teams, Univision Deportes has clinched an agreement for games involving Chivas de Guadalajara.

The multi-year deal begins July 2013 and includes all languages and platforms. It covers Chivas’s Liga MX and Copa Mexico matches, as well as its worldwide friendlies. The Hispanic broadcaster already holds exclusive U.S. media rights to the home games of Toluca, Pumas de la UNAM, Monterrey, Tigres de la UANL, América, Pachuca, Tijuana, Santos, San Luis, Queretaro, Atlas and Atlante, plus away games for the rest of the league’s teams.

“This deal reinforces Univision’s commitment to provide the best and most relevant programming to Hispanic audiences,” said Cesar Conde, the president of Univision Networks. “We are pleased to continue to deliver the culturally relevant content our audience seeks, while creating opportunities for our partners to connect with the fastest growing consumer segment in the nation.”
