NEW YORK: 4K Media has secured a publishing agreement with Scholastic that will see the development of the definitive resource book for young fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters series.

Scholastic will publish the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Official Handbook for distribution in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand this fall. The book will include all of the characters, monsters and duel skills from the series.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, Yugi and his best friends Joey, Tristan and Téa are obsessed with the card-battling game Duel Monsters, but there’s more to the game than meets the eye. Yugi and his friends have awakened the giant monsters, their powerful magic and ancient Egyptian legends.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Scholastic on the development of this definitive resource for young, English-speaking Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters fans,” said Jennifer Coleman, 4K Media’s VP of licensing and marketing. “The Official Handbook will not only encompass all of the Duel Monsters well-known characters, detailing their personalities, skills and relationships, but it will also serve as a quality collection of the artwork created for the series.”

Yu-Gi-Oh! has captivated fans around the world for years and is a perfect brand to inspire a love of reading in kids,” added Colleen Prendergast, the associate manager of Scholastic.

4K Media, a subsidiary of Konami Digital Entertainment, manages the licensing and marketing for the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand. The anime brand celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
