The Mediapro Studio Acquires Spanish Comedy Producer El Terrat

The Mediapro Studio has acquired the comedy and entertainment producer El Terrat, which is behind shows such as Late Motiv, La Resistencia and Tabús.

The two will now pool their expertise, talent, teams and creativity. The agreement will provide El Terrat with the support and structure needed to carry out the international expansion of its projects.

Andreu Buenafuente continues at the head El Terrat, which will maintain complete creative independence, with Agusti Esteve as executive director.

Buenafuente commented: “This operation means I still believe in what I do, comedy. As a company, I’ve a very clear idea of which path we need to take, producing auteur communication, respecting creators, striving to contribute something different, however difficult it may seem. And this is what El Terrat is focused on.”

He added: “This is an addition which will make us stronger and allow us to do even bigger things and take the El Terrat brand as far as possible and with Mediapro we have found a partner who understands us and respects us, warts and all.”
