Newen Distribution Names Managing Director

PARIS: Newen Distribution, a subsidiary of the Newen Group, has appointed Malika Abdellaoui as the company’s managing director.

In her new role, Abdellaoui is responsible for helping producers secure presales with foreign broadcasters and contributing to projects with gap financing. She began her career in 1999 at Disney Channel France as head of acquisitions before becoming head of multi-territory acquisitions for EMEA at The Walt Disney Company. In 2011, Abdellaoui was hired as deputy director of TV sales by EuropaCorp Group, where she oversaw European co-productions.
