ZDF Orders New Season of Medical Series Dr. Klein

MAINZ: ZDF has renewed the medical series Dr. Klein, with a further 12 episodes set to go into production this spring.

The humorous series follows the titular doctor, a pediatrician with numerous challenges both in her professional and her private life. The first 12 episodes were watched by an average of 4.1 million viewers (15.7 percent market share), with a peak of 4.72 million viewers and a market share of 18.9 percent. Bavarian Fernsehproduktion produces the series.

Alexander Coridass, the president and CEO of ZDF Enterprises, said: “The excellent family and hospital series Dr. Klein is a mix of big emotions and pointed humor which does not shy away from politically incorrect overtones. We are excited about this new series about a successful pediatrician, who takes the unconventional route and wins the day.”
