Channel 4 to Air Brooklyn Nine-Nine

LONDON: Channel 4 has acquired the U.K. premiere rights for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which recently debuted on FOX, from NBCUniversal International Television Distribution.

The single-camera ensemble comedy stars Andy Samberg (Saturday Night Live) and Andre Braugher (Men of a Certain Age, Homicide: Life on the Street). It will make its U.K. debut on E4 in January 2014.

Jay Hunt, Channel 4's chief creative officer, said: “I’m delighted to bring NBCUniversal’s laugh out loud comedy about a motley crew of cops to the U.K. Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be a real treat for E4 audiences when it launches here in the new year.”

“We have a long-standing relationship with Channel 4 and partnering with them to bring Brooklyn Nine-Nine to U.K. audiences just seemed like the perfect fit,” said Belinda Menendez, the president of NBCUniversal International Television Distribution and Universal Networks International.
