Beta Film Lines Up New Content

MUNICH: Beta Film is heading to MIPTV with a lineup of 200 hours of international programming, including Tom Fontana’s new project, Copper.

Beta Film will present Fontana’s (Borgia) new ten-episode, one-hour series Copper, a crime story set in 1860s New York City that centers on an Irish-immigrant cop working the city’s notorious Five Points neighborhood. It is produced by Cineflix in association with BBC America, Shaw Media and Beta Film.

In addition, Beta Films will highlight international series at MIPTV, including the Omni Film production Arctic Air and the Spanish series Grand Hotel from bambu producciones and Antena 3. For features, Beta is presenting Agnieszka Holland’s Holocaust film In Darkness and the thriller Hell, Tim Fehlbaum’s theatrical debut, among others. TV movies in the Beta Film lineup include Munich ’72 from teamWorx and A Day for a Miracle from Rowboat/Graf Filmproduktion. The company’s slate also includes Trouble à la Carte by U5 Filmproduktion; the mini-series Mary, which portrays the life of the Virgin Mary, from Lux Vide for RAI /Tellux for ARD; and the 9-million-euro production Odyssey of Heroes from Berengar Pfahl Film.
