LONDON: Pulse has expanded its TV department with the addition of former ITV Studios exec Danny Carvalho as the head of development.

Carvalho will report to Jilly Pearce, the head of TV. He will be responsible for spearheading Pulse’s move into developing innovative formats, as well as creating shows with a greater integration across TV, music, film and commercials. While serving at ITV Studios, Carvalho was responsible for creating formats in both the entertainment and factual entertainment genres, including Four Weddings (Living) and the quiz show The Chase (ITV1). He was also the series producer on Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford (ITV1). Prior to ITV Studios, he was the editor of entertainment and comedy at Radar TV.

Pearce said: “Pulse is at a key stage of growth—both in the U.K. and internationally—and we are delighted to bring such strong talent on board to help drive the company forward in this next phase. Danny brings fantastic development experience to the table having worked on a number of highly successful shows for worldwide audiences, and will be an instrumental force behind our plans for more ambitious and original concepts.”
