Viasat World has secured carriage in Turkey for its Epic Drama channel and SVOD service.

Turkcell’s TV+ has added Epic Drama to its offering, alongside Viasat Explore and Viasat History from the Viasat World portfolio. Epic Drama, Viasat Explore and Viasat History are fully dubbed into Turkish.

Epic Drama is now available in 17 markets and has more than 10 million subscribers.

Emma Jones, VP of commercial affairs at Viasat World, commented: “We are delighted to partner with Turkcell’s TV+ to launch Epic Drama in Turkey for the first time. Turkish audiences are loyal and discerning drama viewers so we know that the channel will make a huge impact, just as it has in the other markets where we see more operators lining up to take the channel as its fan base grows. Almost one year after its launch, we are more dedicated than ever to investing in Epic Drama—curating an incredible pipeline of content which puts world-class drama at the fingertips of the audience.”

TV+ Business Director Baris Zavaroglu at Turkcell added: “We pride ourselves on offering our subscribers the very best content via the channels available in our packages—so we are delighted to now carry Viasat World’s flagship portfolio for people to enjoy and be the first to bring Epic Drama to the market. Turkey is very well-known for its drama series. We selected Epic Drama as the first in the market to reach our subscribers with quality period dramas. We are particularly excited about Epic Drama as it taps into the zeitgeist—there is a lot of excellent home-produced drama on the scene, so Epic Drama will complement this perfectly, bringing the very best of what is being made internationally. Together with Viasat Explore and Viasat History, Epic Drama will add a new dimension to our offering and we look forward to seeing how they perform.”
