Nexiko and Dynamic Television have teamed up to adapt and co-produce the acclaimed novel The Little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules for Swedish broadcaster SVT.

Nexiko will produce and Dynamic Television will handle worldwide distribution. Production on the 8×45-minute series is expected to begin next year in Sweden and France.

The drama is based on the international best-selling book series of the same name by author Catharina Ingelman-Sundberg. It follows a group of disgruntled rebellious senior citizens whose desire for a better life in their nursing home leads them to form a criminal gang pulling off elaborate and hilarious heists. Line Renaud has been cast as one of the leads.

“We are excited to bring Catharina Ingelman-Sunberg’s novel to life,” said Lars Beckung, the CEO of Nexito. “We believe our collaboration with SVT and Dynamic Television will serve the series to its best.”

“Book fans around the world have already found The Little Old Lady to be irresistible and soon television audiences will too,” added Klaus Zimmermann, the managing partner of Dynamic Television. “Dynamic prides itself on presenting a variety of distinctively original programming and this is no exception. We’re thrilled to partner with Nexiko and SVT on this exciting series and to be a part of introducing Catharina’s beloved story to new audiences worldwide.”
