Drops of God’s Fleur Geffrier, Tomohisa Yamashita & Klaus Zimmermann

After debuting in April 2023, Apple TV’s Drops of God nabbed the International Emmy for best drama series. Now, nearly three years after its initial premiere, the award-winning drama is returning with a second eight-episode season on January 21.

Season one began with the death of Alexandre Léger, creator of the Léger Wine Guide, who leaves behind a massive wine collection and a Japanese estate. His estranged daughter, Camille, flies to Japan and discovers that, in order to claim the inheritance, she must compete with his protégé, Issei Tomine, in wine-related tests. In season two, Camille and Issei must team up to uncover the world’s greatest wine, a mystery that even Alexandre could not solve.

Lead stars Fleur Geffrier and Tomohisa Yamashita tell TV Drama Weekly about the evolution of their characters throughout season one and how this new season tests them even further. Dynamic Television’s Klaus Zimmermann, executive producer of the series, discusses how season two maps onto the manga it is based on and the themes of the new episodes.
