TV Business Boosts eOne Results

TORONTO: An expanding television business has been a key driver for Entertainment One this year, which reported a 16-percent gain in total revenues for the first quarter.

In its interim management statement, eOne reported a 200-percent gain in television revenues. In Q1, the company delivered 67 half-hours of programming, with a slate that includes The Firm, Rookie Blue and Saving Hope. Currently in production are Rogue and a new season of Haven, plus the factual offerings Builder Boss, SugarStars and The Devil You Know. The company noted that international sales continue to grow, with about 250 half hours being delivered globally this year.

Film revenues were also up this year, the company said, while distribution revenues fell 5 percent. The company also reported that discussions relating to the potential acquisition of Alliance Films are ongoing.
