eOne Buys Alliance Films

TORONTO: Entertainment One (eOne) has entered into an agreement to acquire Alliance Films from affiliates of GS Capital Partners and Investissement Québec for C$225 million ($229 million).

The move is intended to strengthen eOne’s existing film distribution business and also help drive growth. The Alliance slate includes Looper, as well as Place Beyond the Pines, Hyde Park on the Hudson, Dredd, Anna Karenina, Seven Psychopaths, Silver Linings Playbook, Quartet, Lords of Salem, The Bay, Antiviral, Foxfire, Inescapable and Laurence Anyways.
